About EJS UNEB

EJS where learning is fun

Once again welcome to the Website of Entebbe Junior School, commonly known to its alumni as ‘EJS’.

Your interest in our school is most welcome and very much appreciated. We are committed to excellence and are working towards becoming the best school offering a dual curriculum.

Currently, the school runs on a curriculum set by the National Curriculum Development Centre (NCDC) with English, Mathematics, Basic Science, Social Studies and R.E as the four subjects examined by UNEB at primary seven level.

In the lower Primary section (P.1- P.3), we run the Thematic Curriculum which was introduced by the Ministry of Education & Sports some years ago with literacy and numeracy as its cornerstones.

Alongside the above; we have French, Art and Crafts and Computer Studies. We also have Physical Education, indoor and outdoor games like football, swimming, badminton, wood ball, table tennis but a few to mention. Clubs and societies like Red Cross, Wildlife, Scouting, Home Economics, and Writers club form part of our range of co-curricular activities.

Founded in 2000 by Capt. Darlington and Mrs. Rose Omamteker, EJS has a proud tradition of academic excellence since its inception. It is also renowned for its striking beauty, cleanliness and good care for the children. It is one of best boarding schools in Uganda if not, the best. A home away from Home!

Thank you for visiting our website I hope you found it helpful. We hope to welcome you to EJS family. With best wishes.

Primary Curriculum

Welcome to our Primary Section

We have a boarding section for children who come from distant destinations. Currently, we have over 300 pupils in the boarding section with the rest in day school. Our boarding facilities are unrivaled within Uganda and we are not shy to say that we are the best boarding school in Uganda.

Good feeding, care for children and cleanliness make us stand out and therefore a preferred destination for most parents and children.

On payment of fees, the school provides the following to the boarders: Laundry and basins, out of class uniforms, textbooks, exercise books, pens, and pencils, beds, mattresses, plates, cups and cutlery, first aid, insurance, maintenance, Identity cards & swimming.

Parents on their part provide the following to their children: Two pairs of bed sheets and a blanket, two plain maroon T-shirts, a plastic mattress cover in case of bedwetting, canvass shoes for P.E with white ankle socks (for girls) & long ones for boys, School bag, School shoes (black), towel, bathing soap, slippers, and flat or open shoes, shoe polish, toothpaste and toothbrush, vaseline, night garments, suitcase (not metallic). Other personal effects e.g. face towels, bathing sponge, pants, pant peg, nail cutter etc., swimming costume, fountain pens with ink pots or cartridges for P.4- P.7 and a ream of photocopying paper for P.6-P.7.

After accomplishing their remaining mixed work and other extra work, pupils go to games of their interest. We also have educative & entertaining programmes on DSTV that they watch.

On Sundays, all children go to their respective churches i.e. Anglican, Catholics, Pentecostals save for the Muslims who always go for Juma prayers on Fridays.
